WOMEN OF CHRIST
Calling all women (young and old) to gather together in sisterly love and fellowship. At this time we will brainstorm ways to move forward as women united in Christ. Are you interested in community outreach and service? Do you have other ideas about the way we should proceed as a group? Bring a dish to share (breakfast casserole, muffins, fruit, etc.) and join others on Saturday, June 9th at 10:00AM at SWUMC. Please see Ginny Miller or Barbara McDermott with any questions!
We are in need of supplies weekly for our Food Pantry. Supplies needed are PB&J, spaghetti sauces, dry and canned milk, tuna, mayo, canned beef stews, canned meats, soups, pasta, canned tomatoes, cereal, canned veggies and fruits, and macaroni and cheese. Dollar Tree is a great resource for cereal and bread. Dollar General sells Clover Valley brand, which is very affordable for vegetables, pasta, sauce, and others items as well! If you are in need of a bag of food for your family, simply call on Monday's by 11:00AM, please your name on the list for pick up on Wednesday's between 9:30AM-10:30AM.
Electronic giving is now available at SWUMC. No more having to write a check or remembering offering envelopes! Sign up forms and instructions for the eTithes program are available in the atrium or from Vicki Barnes. Or, you can download the form here. Simply fill out the form, attach a voided check, place them in the envelope provided and put the envelope in the offering plate or give to Vicki. Or, you can mail it directly to the church office at P.O. Box 427, Ordinary, VA 23131. For more information, or if you have questions, please see Vicki Barnes, Anita Newcomb, or Karl Miller.
Recycle your old sneakers. Any condition accepted. We will take them to Nike, who uses them to create surfaces for playgrounds! There is a labeled container outside the kitchen door. You can recycle aluminum cans and help the Giving Garden Foundation by placing your cans in the labeled container outside the kitchen door. And don't forget to recycle your bulletin and other paper materials in the basket in the atrium. Questions? See Ginny Miller.
