Get Help
We all need a helping hand once in a while.

Help Resources

The Bible is filled with commands to care for the poor, the sick, the widow and the orphan. Here at Susanna Wesley, we do our best to be the hands and feet of Jesus by sharing what we have. Do you need help? Below is the collection of resources that we have to share with others. If you need help and don’t see what you need here, please email [email protected].

Food Help

Our passion for feeding people goes way back.

Susanna Wesley Food Pantry

If you are in need:
Call our office on Mondays to request food assistance (804) 642-7551. We only need your basic information (number of people in your household, food allergies and restrictions) to allow us to assemble your food pantry order. We provide a variety of food products to include canned goods, cereals, pasta, canned meats,  peanut butter, frozen meats, fresh vegetables, bread products etc.

Pick-up:
You will pick up your order on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
O
ur volunteers will bring your bag(s) (grocery, fresh vegetables, frozen items)
to your vehicle.

How Can you Help?
One of the easiest ways is to drop off a donation of food items. The items we are always in need of include:

dry or boxed milk, and cereals (Oatmeal, cheerios, corn flakes, Chex, etc.), peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauces, dry and canned milk,
tuna, mayonnaise, canned stews, canned meats
(tuna, chicken, ham), soups, pasta, canned tomatoes, salt and pepper, cereal, macaroni
 and cheese,
fruit cups. Dollar Tree is a great resource for cereal and bread.

Brown paper bags for food pantry use are always welcome.

If you would like to volunteer time or make a donation, please contact Bobby Scarborough or the church office at 804-642-7551.

Financial Help

We financially support a network of non-profit partners to provide assistance.

Our number one goal is to prevent homelessness. If you are in need of assistance with utility bills, rent, etc. call our office to allow us to help you get the assistance you need.

Susanna Wesley has joined with 19+ area churches to support those in need through the Jubilee Church Network. As a supporting partner we have expanded our ability to assist more families in need of help with utilities and threat of shut-off along with rent assistance. By working together as the body of Christ along with G.U.E.S.T and Bay Aging we are helping struggling families and individuals to get back on the feet in trying times.

Your request will sent to Jubilee Coordinator. The coordinator will assess your situation, provide assistance, make referrals or request support from us and our fellow Jubilee Churches.

Shelter Assistance

A portion of our tithe goes to support G.U.E.S.T, E.C.H.O. and Helping the Homeless programs.  If you are in need of emergency housing assistance we will guide you to the appropriate partner. Our partner's assess your situation and we work with them to provide you emergency short term housing in local motels.
