Visiting a new church can be pretty intimidating! We know because we’ve all been there. We’ve designed this page to help you prepare for your first visit to Susanna Wesley so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

On a typical Sunday morning at Susanna Wesley, you’ll find many different kinds of people on different parts of their faith journey. Chances are, there will be many other newcomers just like you. Whether you’re new to church and faith, or a longtime Jesus-follower, you will be loved regardless.

Susanna Wesley exists to share the love of God to all. We are blessed with a team of teachers gifted with the ability to help us decipher God’s word. Meet Pastor Patti

Rev. Patti Money is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She has been in ministry for almost 20 years and has served congregations in: Danville, the Eastern Shore, Virginia Beach, and even eastern Idaho. In addition, she has experience as a hospital chaplain, having worked in both the Riverside and Bon Secours health systems. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Religion and French from Emory & Henry College (now University) in southwest Virginia and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. In addition, she completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education, including a year-long chaplaincy residency at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News. Her ministry passions include: worship planning and leadership, preaching, helping people discover their God-given gifts, pastoral care, community outreach, and learning
new ways to tell the life-changing story of the Gospel. Pastor Patti, as she prefers to be called, has lived in eight different states but considers Virginia home, having lived here for three-quarters of her life. She and
her family have lived in Yorktown since 2020. She comes to Susanna Wesley after a five year leave of absence from parish ministry. During that time, she focused on family needs, did pulpit supply, and served as a long-term substitute teacher and para-educator at Grafton Middle School in Yorktown. She is very excited to return to the pulpit in July! Pastor Patti is married to Dr. James Money, a federal employee with the
Department of Defense. He serves as a Data Science Team Lead at Joint Staff in Suffolk. They will celebrate their 24th anniversary this August. They have two teenage children: Susanna and Gregory. They also have two Labrador Retrievers: Daisy and Wesley.  In her spare time, Pastor Patti enjoys reading, practicing her French, playing with her dogs, and serving as an adult volunteer with Job’s Daughters International,
