🔥 Fan the Flame 🔥The idea for Fan the Flame started in 2021 as an idea to grow the Youth Ministry of Susanna Wesley UMC and to be come a pillar in the community for all youth to attend. Starting Fall 2022 the idea for Fan the Flame will come to reality!
Fan the Flame is a worship service dedicated to youth. Too often our young people do not see themselves reflected in the style, topics, and community of our congregational worship. While integrating them into the body of our faith communities continues to be a goal, so too is creating a space for them to worship in ways that reflect their dynamic community together. |

Meet our Youth Directorur Youth Director, Sebastian Brock, came to us as a guest in December 2019. He started assisting the former Youth Director with the Youth Ministry as he served in her former ministry at our sister church, Bethany UMC in Gloucester Point for many years. Sebastian as been working with youth in a support role for the past 11 years. When the Youth Director position came open, Sebastian was recommenced for the position. He initially started off in a volunteer capacity until he completed interviews and approval from the Leadership Board. In late February 2022 the Leadership Board approved the hire of Sebastian to be the Youth Director starting March 1, 2022. Sebastian thinks outside the box and we are more than excited to see where he takes the Youth Ministry here at Susanna Wesley.
