Senior Pastor
Rev. Patti Money is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. She has been in ministry for almost 20 years and has served congregations in: Danville, the Eastern Shore, Virginia Beach, and even eastern Idaho. In addition, she has experience as a hospital chaplain, having worked in both the Riverside and Bon Secours health systems. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Religion and French from Emory & Henry College (now University) in southwest Virginia and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. In addition, she completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education, including a year-long chaplaincy residency at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News. Her ministry passions include: worship planning and leadership, preaching, helping people discover their God-given gifts, pastoral care, community outreach, and learning new ways to tell the life-changing story of the Gospel.
 
Pastor Patti, as she prefers to be called, has lived in eight different states but considers Virginia home, having lived here for three-quarters of her life. She and her family have lived in Yorktown since 2020. 

Crystal Tucker-Oberlin
Pastoral Worship Assistant &
Contemporary Music Director

Crystal has been a wonderful addition to the staff.  She became a part of the church in October of 2022 as the Contemporary Music Director, but has since felt the call into full time ministry.  She is a graduate of Longwood University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.  She has taught students of all ages since 2001.

​Crystal is currently growing in her call to ministry by serving the church as the Pastoral Worship Assistant while continuing as Contemporary Music Director.  In this new role she will serve the church in a greater way while being mentored by Pastor Patti.  

Crystal has been married to Samuel since 2003.  The Oberlin family includes two teenage daughters, Nadia and Jenaye.

After my walk to Emmaus in 2003 , I made a commitment to God as he led me to find “the hope” to which He has called me; what is the purpose to which I have been called? My personal relationship with my Lord Jesus is continually changing as I grow through worship, study and prayer.  My heart’s desire is to be a better servant, a better witness and better disciple and encourage others to enter into a relationship with Jesus the Christ.  Since 2003, I have attended Annual Conferences, Laity Workshops and Training Workshops.  I have completed the requirements to apply through the District as a Certified Lay Speaker, as well as Certified Lay Servant.  I look forward to being in ministry with Susanna Wesley UMC and serving as your Assistant Lay Leader under the guidance of Pastor Patti.

Sebastian is a dedicated children’s and student ministry leader who serves as Director of Family Ministries at Susanna Wesley UMC. He has been part of the church since 2019, beginning as Assistant Student Director, then serving as Student Director, and now overseeing both children’s and student ministries. In addition to his ministry leadership, Sebastian manages church marketing, including website design, digital communications, and flyer and graphic design. Passionate about nurturing faith, character, and community, he partners with families and volunteers to create engaging, Christ-centered environments where the next generation can grow, connect, and thrive.

Sebastian resides in Newport News, VA with his dog Ranger, and his cat Carbon.

Christine joins us from Newport News, Virginia, bringing 25 years of experience as a school administrative assistant at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. Christine she is dedicated to supporting children, families, and the church community, helping to create a welcoming and nurturing environment.​
